Public Open House for Proposed Natalie Creek Trail Set for September 13

The Village of Midlothian, along with partner communities Crestwood and Oak Forest, is holding an Open House for the public to learn more about the proposed Natalie Creek Trail. This informational meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 13 at 6:30 p.m. at the Midlothian Park District Recreational Center located at 14500 S. Kostner Avenue, Midlothian.

The purpose of the Open House will be to engage with community residents, stakeholders and interested individuals in this proposed 12-mile multi-purpose path and bicycle route. A Phase I Planning Study will be introduced for the planned route.

The Natalie Creek Trail Phase I Planning Study is funded by an Invest in Cook transportation grant from the Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways and the communities of Midlothian, Crestwood, and Oak Forest. The 12+ mile route travels through parts of Blue Island, Crestwood, Midlothian, Robbins, and Oak Forest and connects two major regional trails: the Cal-Sag Trail and the Tinley Creek Trail. An Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program (ITEP) grant has been awarded to the Village of Midlothian to fund the Phase II Engineering Plans as the next stage in this exciting regional project.
