For workers who have not applied for jobs in a number of years, looking for employment means learning to navigate a new world of technology. For those who wish to hone their computer skills for job searching, Midlothian Public Library will present the three-session class series, “Searching for a Job Using a Computer,” on Mondays, September 13, 20 and 27 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in person at the library (14701 Kenton Avenue).
Using the Chicago Digital Learn course platform, participants will work on lessons with the help of a library staff member. These lessons combine video instruction with hands-on exercises. Topics covered include online job searching, creating résumés, applying for jobs online and getting a job using Illinois workNet. Participants will proceed at their own pace. Masks are required, and social distancing will be practiced.
The program is free, but registration is required. To register, call the library at (708) 535-2027 or visit the library website, www.midlothianlibrary.org
