[ARCHIVED] COVID 19 UPDATE

Message from The Mayor of Midlothian

March 30, 2020

I can’t express enough how proud I am of our community.  The residents, businesses, and employees have been amazing and uplifting to each other throughout this difficult time.  We continue to follow the latest developments with the pandemic in order to update all of you.

The Cook County Department of Public Health has created a real time map to track Covid-19 cases.  It is a town by town map that updates each time a case is reported.  You can view this map here: https://ccdphcd.shinyapps.io/covid19/

As of this morning, according to this map, Midlothian has 13 cases of Covid-19.  We are not getting notified of each case as they come in so this is the best way for our residents to stay informed.  We have no information on the contact tracing or the severity of those that are ill.

I would like to remind everyone at this time to proceed as if anyone you may come in contact with could carry this virus.   Awareness is key in helping to stop this spread.  We expect the numbers to continue to rise but can slow the community spread by continuing to use best practices as previously outlined.

As always our thoughts are with those affected by Covid-19.

Thank You,

Gary L’Heureux
