[ARCHIVED] Public Works employees continue to work hard in the aftermath of Tuesday’s unseasonable weather.

...

Tuesday afternoon Midlothian was inundated with rain causing the creek to over-bank and Public Works to be out in full force deploying pumps and barriers. Led by Superintendent Sparrey, the team was vigilant in clearing Natalie Creek along Pulaski and remained there until the creek waters began to subside.

These storms often cause debris to be deposited on storm sewer covers, blocking water flow and potentially increasing flooding of our streets. Public Works will come and clear these, but it takes time. We are asking residents to be aware of any sewer covers near their homes and if possible to help keep them clear.

We’d like to thank Public Works staff for working over-time to keep residents dry and safe during this storm.
