This is a message from the Midlothian Public Works Department regarding the extreme cold weather we are expecting.
During this prolonged cold, please allow faucets to drip slightly to keep water in your house moving and reduce pressure buildup if freezing occurs. Keep your thermostat set to a consistent temperature, even if you are away, and open cabinet doors beneath sinks to allow warm air to circulate around your plumbing. Taking these steps proactively can help prevent and reduce the risk of frozen pipes, costly water damage, and emergency repairs.
Thank you, and stay warm.
